Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer, North Central Kentucky
Purpose: The position of Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer exists in this organization to provide the highest quality, professional, and efficient funeral services to the client families served by the Linnemann Funeral Homes.
Reports to: Director of Funeral Service Operations.
Major Duties
- Direct funerals, perform embalming’s, make at-need and pre-need arrangements, prepare for visitations/funerals, work visitations/funerals and escort funerals.
- On-call rotation (one night a week and every other weekend)
- Willing to work on nights off and weekends off when we are busy.
- Be knowledgeable of all programs, services and amenities offered by the funeral home
- Use appropriate communication skills with family members, visitors, and clergy.
- Greet visitors and family; introduces them to the appropriate staff during visitations.
- Remain visible and available at all times during services and visitations
- Greet visitors, determine the purpose of their visit, respond accordingly by directing escorting them to the appropriate room as time and circumstances allow.
- Check with client family members during visitation to ensure all are satisfied
- Maintain the register book, prayer cards, and memorial supplies.
- Participate in the direction and/or delivery of ceremonies and services as needed
- Monitor parking lot activities during services; assist with funeral processions.
- Maintain complete confidentiality, perpetually, concerning any information, circumstances, or facts regarding the deceased or client family.
- Complies with all applicable federal, state and local regulations
- Complies with all Company polices, procedures and safety measures.
- Presents (attire) and conducts himself/herself in a professional and respectable manner.
Other Duties
- Perform routine ground/building maintenance and snow removal
- Assist in cleaning funeral home, running errands, and washing cars
- Completes all training session required by the management of LFH.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Funeral Service Operations or the Owners.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Funeral Directors/Embalmers License
Experience: >2 years
Physical: Lift and Carry > 75lbs
Compensation and Benefits: Starting at $55,000 but negotiable based on experience/qualifications. 401(k), Health Benefits, Paid Vacation +PTO Days, Performance Bonus, Cell Phone Allowance, Professional Clothing Allowance, Signing Bonus.

Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes is looking for two Licensed Funeral Directors/Embalmers to join the organization. Our ideal candidate will will have a minimum of three years of experience and will be responsible for the following:
- Arranges, coordinates, and directs funerals and memorial ceremonies.
- Embalm deceased individuals to the highest standards.
- Meets and surpasses the needs and expectations of the many families we serve in the upstate.
- Maintains active involvement within the community and is committed to building and creating effective relationships and rapport.
The successful candidate must have the following:
- South Carolina Funeral Director License (Required) and South Carolina Embalmer License (Preferred).
- Displays proven, superior arrangement, directing and embalming skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent diligence and consistent level of accuracy.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written and presentation.
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning and utilizing industry software.
- Exemplifies organization’s values of integrity, respect, compassion, professionalism, innovation and overall excellence.
- Excellent knowledge of funeral home procedures and business practices.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Desire to continuously improve oneself via literature, professional educational seminars, extensive training, etc.
- A valid driver’s license is a mandatory requirement for this position with a clean driving record.
- Ability to do home/hospital/nursing home body removals. Able to lift 100+ pound body weight with assistance from mortuary associate.
