Congratulations to Our 2020 Recipient, Megan Comer!

“In 2018, I lost my father, Stuart Comer. Ownership transferred solely to me, and I was a little overwhelmed to say the least. But there was one thing I knew for sure—I had to get involved in Selected Independent Funeral Homes! My father was on the Board and was very involved.

At my very first Selected meeting, I couldn’t believe the number of people willing to share with me, encourage me, and push me. I came home with a binder full of ideas. I joined a Study Group right away because I wanted more!

It was important for me to attend the NextGen Seminar because I want to meet with and glean from people my age in the profession who have insight and perspective. I want to not only connect with my colleagues but learn how to manage better and grow my business. The educational sessions are so important for someone in my situation.

My favorite thing about Selected has been the willingness of every member to share—from best practices, to forms, to advice—and I want to be an active participant in this community. Selected has the best of the best in this profession, and I am thrilled to be learning from each of them as I continue my father’s legacy.”
