          $40,000+ annually, depending on experience

          PinesFunerals, a family-owned, faith-based and growing funeral service provider in Central North Carolina is seeking an experienced and driven Director of Operations to oversee and lead daily operations across four locations. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring excellence in service, operational efficiency, and team development, while upholding our mission of compassionate care for the families we serve.

          Position Overview - The Director of Operations will provide strategic and hands-on leadership across all divisions of PinesFunerals, ensuring consistency, compliance, and high standards in every aspect of our service.

          Key Responsibilities

          • Oversee daily operations of all funeral homes, crematory, and memorial park
          • Lead, mentor, and develop staff across multiple locations
          • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
          • Maintain high standards of service, professionalism, and care
          • Manage scheduling, staffing, and workflow across departments
          • Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and cost control
          • Implement systems and processes to improve efficiency and accountability

          Qualifications

          • Proven leadership experience in funeral service, cemetery, or related field (multi-location management preferred)
          • Licensed Funeral Director (North Carolina preferred)
          • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
          • Experience managing teams and driving operational excellence
          • Financial insight and experience with budgeting and reporting
          • Ability to lead with compassion, integrity, and professionalism

          Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

          McLane Funeral & Cremation Services in Valdosta, GA, is seeking a full-time Funeral Director & Embalmer who has experience and desires to serve families in the most professional and compassionate manner possible. This person must have excellent communication skills and will meet with families to help them discover and design beautiful & appropriate tributes for their loved one. This person must be conscientious, self-motivated, well organized and meticulous.

          Qualifications 

          • Have an existing license in a state that can quickly reciprocate to Georgia
          • 2-3 years’ experience as a practicing director preferred.
          • Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Office, Funeral Service Software, etc.).
          • Display proficiency as an efficient, team player.
          • Have excellent attention to detail.
          • Have a professional appearance and have no visible tattoos and facial piercings
          • Be able to effectively communicate with fellow staff and the families we serve.
          • Pass a background check and drug screen
          • Afternoon, weekend and holiday hours are part of the normal schedule
          • Education requirement—at least high school and mortuary college.
          • Physically capable of a fast paced work environment and lifting heavy loads (removals).

          Firm

          A progressive, family-owned firm (3rd generation). Member of Selected Independent Funeral Homes and a Graystone client, we seek to provide premier level service to all of our families and clients. We have staff training and seek feedback from families to continually gauge and improve our service. Currently 50%+ of our families choose burial options and 40% choose cremation options. We serve 450 families a year and have three locations, all within 20 miles of each other, and a cemetery.

          Community

          Valdosta is a community in southern Georgia with a population of over 125,000 people. It is an excellent community for individuals and families. We have excellent schools and many activities and sports programs for kids. We are a college town, Valdosta State University, and a military town, Moody Air Force Base. We are close to larger cities—3 hours to both Atlanta and Orlando. Close to beaches—2 hours to the Atlantic and the Gulf. Mild winters and hot summers.

          Job Schedule & Benefits

          • Will be on call, which would require evenings, nights and weekends. 
          • Job provides consistent time off. Two days a week off- every other weekend off.
          • Wage would begin at $22-$30 an hour, depending on experience and other skills.
          • A quarterly bonus is given based on individual and companywide performance.
          • Includes Insurance- Medical, Life, Disability (Employer/Employee split).
          • Participate in company 401(k) plan. 
          • Eligible for vacation and sick leave time as indicated in the handbook.
